お小遣いは子供に悪い習慣を与えます。お小遣いというのは雇われ人になるよう教えることになります。起業家なら定期収入を期待すべきではありません。お小遣いは、子供に小さな頃から定期収入を期待するようにさせます。起業家を育てたければ、これは間違っています。私には9歳と7歳の子供がいますが、家や庭を見て回り、何かできることがないか探すように教えています。見つけたら子供たちは私のところに言いに来ます。あるいは私の方から「これをやって欲しい」と言うこともあります。それから何をすると思いますか？ 価格交渉です。子供たちは仕事内容を理解して、その仕事を幾らでするか交渉するのです。子供たちに定期収入はありませんが、たくさんの仕事を見つける機会があります。交渉のスキルを学び、機会を見つけるスキルを学んでいます。そういう能力を育てるのです。
